(UNLBSL) is a Class 'D' Microfinance Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and recognized as one of the leading microfinance institutions in western Nepal. A Strong Foundation Built on Decades of Experience
Although UNLBSL obtained its Class 'D' Microfinance Banking License from Nepal Rastra Bank in October 2018, its journey began much earlier.
The institution traces its origins to UNYC Nepal, which initiated community-based microfinance programs in 2000. For 18 years, these programs operated under Nepal's Financial Intermediary NGO (FINGO) framework established by the Financial Intermediary Act, building extensive experience in serving low-income households before transitioning into a regulated microfinance financial institution.
This long-standing grassroots experience continues to guide UNLBSL's customer-centered approach to financial inclusion and community development.
