The institution is registered under the Companies Act, 2063 and operates under the Bank and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA), 2073.
The institution officially commenced its microfinance operations on 25 Falgun 2068 B.S. (8 March 2012 – International Women's Day) from its original Central Office in Khanikhola, Dhading. Following its growth and expansion, the Central Office is now located at Banepa Municipality–13, Sanga, Kavrepalanchok, Nepal.
With nationwide operational authority, Suryodaya Womi is committed to expanding access to formal financial services and promoting inclusive economic development throughout Nepal.
