Nerude Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMLBSL) is a national-level Class 'D' Microfinance Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). The institution was established through the merger of two leading national-level microfinance institutions—Nerude Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, headquartered in Biratnagar, Morang, and Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, headquartered in Banepa, Kavrepalanchok.
The merger was undertaken in alignment with Nepal Rastra Bank's merger and acquisition policy, which aims to strengthen Nepal's banking and financial sector, improve institutional efficiency, and reduce duplication within the microfinance industry.
Merger History
The merger process officially began when Nerude Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited signed a Merger Agreement on 11 Poush 2079 B.S. Both institutions were already licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank to operate as national-level Class 'D' financial institutions under the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2073.
Following approval by their respective Special General Meetings (SGMs) on 15 Baisakh 2080 B.S., the merged entity obtained the final merger approval from Nepal Rastra Bank on 3 Kartik 2080 B.S. The institution officially commenced its unified operations on 30 Falgun 2080 B.S. under the name Nerude Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMLBSL).
Today, the institution operates with its Central Office located at Banepa Municipality–8, Kavrepalanchok, serving customers as a national-level regulated microfinance institution.
