In a move to strengthen its precious metal assessment operations, a leading Class “A” commercial bank of Nepal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gold Tester to join its team. The role demands precision, trustworthiness, and in-depth technical expertise in gold purity evaluation—key qualities essential to safeguard the bank’s integrity and customer trust.

Position: Gold Tester
Location: As per the Bank’s requirement (anywhere in Nepal)

Job Summary:
The Gold Tester will be responsible for verifying the authenticity, purity, and weight of gold and other precious metals, ensuring compliance with the bank’s operational standards and Nepal Rastra Bank guidelines. This position plays a critical role in detecting counterfeit items, maintaining accurate testing records, and providing expert valuations to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct purity and weight tests on gold and other precious metals using acid tests, electronic testers, and XRF machines.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of test results; prepare periodic reports.

• Adhere strictly to bank procedures and regulatory requirements in all testing processes.

• Safeguard the integrity of gold items during assessment.

• Provide expert valuation advice to relevant stakeholders.

• Identify and report counterfeit or substandard metals promptly.

Required Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of gold testing techniques, industry purity standards, and valuation methods.

• Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to handle digital reporting tools.

• Strong ethical standards, reliability, and discretion in handling high-value items.

• Effective time management and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum educational qualification: SEE/SLC.

• Age above 30 years as of 21 August 2025.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Gold Tester in A, B, or C class banks or financial institutions licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank.

• Proficiency in Nepali and English (written and spoken).

• Willingness to work anywhere in Nepal.

• For foreign academic qualifications, an equivalence certificate from the competent authority in Nepal is mandatory.
