Nepal Rastra Bank has published an important notice urging the public to exercise necessary precautions when conducting digital banking transactions.

​According to the central bank, using public Wi-Fi networks for digital banking significantly increases the risk of unauthorized individuals gaining access to your sensitive banking details. Hackers often exploit these unsecured networks to intercept and misuse financial information.

• ​Avoid Public Wi-Fi: Ensure your personal and banking details are safe by conducting online banking transactions exclusively through secure and trusted private networks.
• ​Use Official Platforms: Always use your bank's official website and verified mobile application to perform transactions.
• ​Update Passwords Regularly: Periodically change the passwords and PIN codes you use for banking transactions.
• ​Protect Your OTPs: Keep financial transaction-related One-Time Passwords (OTPs) and PIN codes strictly to yourself and never share them.
