Nepal Rastra Bank to Keep Banks Open on Ghode Jatra for Essential Transactions

Kathmandu - Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has recently issued a new notification regarding the resumption of banking services on the occasion of Ghode Jatra, a public holiday in the Kathmandu Valley. The notification stated that necessary arrangements have been made to keep the relevant departments and offices of banks and financial institutions open for cash transactions in offices located outside the valley.

In addition to cash transactions, Electronic Check Clearing (ECG), RTGS, and other essential banking services will also be available on the day of Ghode Jatra, as per the instructions given by the Institution Regulation Department.

Ghode Jatra is a traditional festival celebrated in the Kathmandu Valley, where a grand horse parade takes place. Despite the public holiday in the valley, banks and financial institutions located outside the valley will remain open to ensure that customers can access necessary banking services without any inconvenience.
