Rastriya Banijya Bank Issues Notice for Database and Network & System Specialist Positions on Contract Basis

Rastriya Banijya Bank, a leading commercial bank in Nepal, has issued a notification regarding staff requirements. The bank has published a notice for the post of Database Specialist and Network and System Specialist for a one-year contract period.

The position of Database Specialist requires the candidate to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They should have over 10 years of Oracle and MS-SQL DBA experience, 5+ years of ProstgreSQl experience, and 5+ years of Linux, Unix, and Windows Server experience. The ideal candidate should have strong customer service attitude and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical personnel. The candidate should also be a self-starter able to perform a variety of tasks and has a proven ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment. The position requires occasional weekend and after-hours work and back-end (tier 3) on-call support for emergencies. Basic knowledge of shell scripting is also required. Additional qualifications and experience preferred are a self-motivated individual with a desire to stay abreast of the latest technologies, willingness to perform non-DBA functions such as data analysis and project work, experience with Oracle/MS-SQL Server BI, Weblogic, Oracle/MS-SQL Server Replication, working in IT for a bank and financial institutions, and experience with large databases.

The position of Network and System Specialist requires the candidate to have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information system or an equivalent degree from a recognized university. They should have more than 10 years of experience in the use of Corporate system backup and recovery solutions, and more than 10 years of experience in medium-sized LAN and WAN environments running Microsoft Windows Server technologies, IIS, System Center, AD as well as Linux Servers (Ubuntu, CentOS). The ideal candidate should have practical work experience in ICT Security and Identity Management, practical work experience in the installation, configuration, and deployment of network routers, and switches (like Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Sonic wall, Sophos), demonstrated ability in the provision of user training and support (Standard office automation and customized applications), and experience in good customer care, with additional focus on the support of remote users and logistical arrangements, which are common in remote areas of Nepal. Additional qualifications and experience preferred are certifications like CISSP, COBIT, and ITIL which are an advantage, and experience in CEH, CHFI, and ECSA is an added advantage.
