Expanding Financial Inclusion Through Responsible Microfinance

Mero Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (Mero Microfinance) is a national-level "D" Class Microfinance Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) under the Bank and Financial Institutions (BAFI) Act, 2073 (2016). The institution was incorporated under the Companies Act, 2063 and is dedicated to promoting financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainable socio-economic development by providing responsible microfinance services throughout Nepal.

Mero Microfinance is a joint initiative of eight financial institutions, comprising seven commercial banks and one development bank. This strong institutional partnership provides a solid foundation for delivering reliable, customer-focused, and sustainable financial services to underserved communities across the country.

Our Background

Mero Microfinance was officially incorporated on 30 Ashadh 2070 B.S. (14 July 2013) and received its operating license from Nepal Rastra Bank as a national-level "D" Class Financial Institution. The institution commenced its formal microfinance operations from its first branch office in Battar, Nuwakot, extending financial services to communities with limited access to the formal banking sector.

Since its establishment, Mero Microfinance has focused on improving financial accessibility for low-income households, rural entrepreneurs, women, and economically disadvantaged communities by offering responsible and inclusive microfinance solutions that support income generation and sustainable livelihoods.
