Introduction
Chhimek Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (CBBL) is one of Nepal's leading Class 'D' microfinance institutions, dedicated to expanding financial inclusion, empowering women, and reducing poverty through sustainable microfinance services.
The institution was incorporated in September 2001 and received its microfinance banking license from Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) in November 2001. Chhimek was established as an offshoot of the successful microfinance program implemented by the Neighbourhood Society Service Centre (NSSC), a national-level non-governmental organization that began providing community-based microfinance services in the 1990s in Mahottari and Chitwan districts of Nepal.
Since its establishment, Chhimek has remained committed to improving access to formal financial services for poor and marginalized women, particularly in underserved and rural communities. Through responsible microfinance, the institution promotes financial independence, entrepreneurship, savings, and sustainable livelihood development.
