Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued an urgent directive to all licensed Class "A", "B", and "C" banks and financial institutions to assign dedicated focal persons during the upcoming public holidays for the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.
In response to heightened cyber fraud and digital financial scam risks while banks are closed, institutions are required to share their designated focal person's name, title, mobile number and 24/7 duty email address with the Nepal Police Headquarters at [email protected]. This initiative is designed to ensure prompt reporting of fraudulent digital transactions, swift freezing of suspicious accounts, and streamlined law enforcement investigations during the holiday period.
