Nabil Bank Limited has invited sealed bids for the auction of movable and immovable properties pledged as collateral by borrowers who have failed to repay their outstanding loans.
The bank issued a 15-day public notice on September 28, 2026, stating that the auction process has been initiated to recover outstanding principal and interest from defaulting borrowers and their guarantors.
According to the notice, the concerned borrowers and guarantors were previously given repeated verbal and written reminders to settle their loan obligations. The bank had also published a 35-day public notice on April 20, 2025, asking them to clear their outstanding dues. However, the borrowers and guarantors failed to settle the liabilities within the given period.
As a result, the bank has decided to sell the listed collateral properties through a confidential sealed-bid process, in accordance with applicable laws and the bank's regulations.
Interested individuals, firms, companies and other organized institutions can obtain and submit the sealed-bid application within 15 days from the date of publication of the notice. The applications must be submitted during office hours at Nabil Bank's Dhulikhel Branch, Kavre, in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the bid form.
The bank has also stated that the auction can be stopped if the concerned borrowers or guarantors clear all outstanding dues and settle the loans before the scheduled auction date.
If the properties fail to attract successful bids, or no bidder accepts the properties through the auction process, the bank may acquire the assets itself as permitted under the prevailing laws.
Nabil Bank further stated that if the proceeds from the auction are insufficient to recover the bank's total outstanding amount, it may proceed against other movable and immovable assets of the borrowers and guarantors in accordance with applicable laws, including the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 and the Debt Recovery Act, 2058.
