Lumbini Bikas Bank Issues 35-Day Notice to Borrowers to Clear Outstanding Loans

Lumbini Bikas Bank Limited has issued a 35-day notice to its listed borrowers to clear their outstanding loan obligations, including principal, interest and penalty interest.

The notice, published in the Nagarik National Daily on September 24, 2026 (Ashwin 8, 2083), states that the concerned borrowers have failed to make payments as required under the terms and conditions of their respective loan agreements.

According to the bank, repeated verbal and written reminders have also failed to prompt the borrowers to settle their outstanding dues.

The bank has asked the concerned borrowers to fully repay their outstanding principal, interest and penalty interest within 35 days from the date of publication of the notice.

The bank has warned that failure to settle the dues within the specified period could result in the auction and sale of the movable and immovable assets pledged as loan collateral, in accordance with prevailing laws.

If the outstanding amount cannot be recovered through the sale of the pledged collateral, the bank may initiate recovery proceedings against other movable and immovable assets of the borrowers and related parties. It may also file cases with the Debt Recovery Tribunal or take other legal action as permitted under prevailing laws.

The bank further stated that it may recommend the concerned borrowers and related parties for listing on the Credit Information Centre Limited's blacklist in accordance with Nepal Rastra Bank directives.
