Nepal Rastra Bank has set maximum loan limits and repayment periods for credit disbursed through electronic means. Under the provision, eligible customers receiving salary, pension or business income through bank accounts can obtain digital loans of up to NPR 5 lakh, with a repayment period of up to three years. Other individual borrowers can access up to NPR 2 lakh, also repayable within three years.
For micro and small businesses, including short-term working-capital loans, the maximum limit has been set at NPR 5 lakh, with a repayment period of up to one year. Medium-sized businesses, including those seeking long-term working-capital loans, can obtain up to NPR 10 lakh. The repayment period for this category will be determined according to the working-capital lending policy of the concerned bank or financial institution.
