NMB Bank has issued a public notice requesting customers to claim deposits held in dormant accounts that have remained inactive for 10 years or more or have no legal claim under the provisions of Nepal's banking laws.
The notice has been published in accordance with Unified Directive 2082, Directive No. 16, Clause 3(4), issued by the Nepal Rastra Bank's Bank and Financial Institutions Regulation Department.
According to the bank, if the deposits in such inactive accounts remain unclaimed for 20 years, the funds will be transferred to the Banking Development Fund maintained by Nepal Rastra Bank, as required by applicable regulations.
NMB Bank has also informed customers that the list of dormant and unclaimed deposit accounts is available on its official website under the Notice section. Customers are encouraged to verify whether their accounts are included and contact the bank to complete the necessary claim process.
