Samudayik Laghubitta and Sanjeevani Laghubitta Financial Institution Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate the merger process between the two institutions.
According to the official notice, the MoU was signed on August 3, 2026 (Shrawan 18, 2083 BS). Community Microfinance is headquartered in Sanga, Banepa-14, Kavrepalanchok, while Sanjeevani Microfinance is based in Tulsipur-5, Dang.
The agreement marks the beginning of the formal merger process, which will be carried out in accordance with Nepal's Merger and Acquisition Directive, 2079 and applicable regulatory requirements.
As required under Section 3(1) and Section 7 of the directive, the institutions have requested that the trading of shares held by their founder shareholders remain suspended until the merger proposal is approved by their respective general meetings.
The proposed merger is expected to proceed through the necessary regulatory and shareholder approval process before becoming effective.
