Kathmandu: Sanima Bank Limited (SANIMA) has published its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, showing improvement in profitability, core income and dividend capacity compared to the previous year.

According to the financial report, the bank recorded a net profit of Rs. 3.55 billion by the end of the last fiscal year, increasing by 38.01% from Rs. 2.57 billion in the previous fiscal year.

The bank’s net interest income increased to Rs. 6.96 billion from Rs. 6.35 billion, while net fee and commission income rose to Rs. 1.32 billion from Rs. 1.19 billion. Operating profit also improved significantly, reaching Rs. 5.16 billion compared to Rs. 3.57 billion a year earlier.

Sanima Bank’s distributable profit stood at Rs. 2.83 billion after regulatory adjustments, up from Rs. 2.10 billion in the previous year. The distributable profit per share reached Rs. 20.85, indicating stronger potential for shareholder returns.

The bank’s business size also expanded during the review period. Total deposits increased to Rs. 249 billion from Rs. 223 billion, while loans grew to Rs. 195 billion from Rs. 176 billion. The bank’s total assets reached Rs. 291 billion.

Meanwhile, asset quality improved as the bank’s non-performing loan (NPL) ratio declined to 2.87% from 3.01%, and net NPL stood at 1.02%. However, declining interest spreads, slower business growth and digital transformation remain key challenges for the bank.

Sanima Bank has stated that it will focus on expanding digital services, improving deposit mix and strengthening loan recovery strategies to achieve sustainable growth.
