Kathmandu. Jyoti Prakash Pandey, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Investment Mega Bank, has been released from custody. The bank, through an official notice, stated that Pandey has resumed his regular duties following an order from the Supreme Court.
Earlier, Pandey had been arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on allegations of involvement in the illegal auction of Smart Cell’s assets.
According to the CIB, an investigation was launched against the 63-year-old Pandey, a permanent resident of Raktakali, Kathmandu, currently residing in Manbhawan, Lalitpur, under charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust as per the National Penal Code.
A hearing on the habeas corpus petition related to Pandey was held at the Supreme Court of Nepal on Jestha 1.
