Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited has announced a research grant opportunity for scholars currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Business Studies, or Computer Science and Information Technology at recognized Nepali universities.
According to the notice, the research grant aims to promote high-quality and innovative studies that contribute to knowledge in banking, financial management, organizational performance, and economic development, with a particular focus on emerging markets. The bank stated that the supported research should generate practical and actionable insights useful for banks, policymakers, and the broader economic community.
The grant is intended to support research covering areas such as banking and economy, digital banking, innovation, customer satisfaction, consumer protection, human resource management, asset quality, non-performing assets, capital requirements, Basel III, monetary and fiscal policy, information security, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data analytics, and software engineering. Research studies should be based on reliable and verifiable data and may include both national and international perspectives.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a relevant Master’s degree program and submit research proposals aligned with the thematic focus outlined by the bank. Proposals must be recommended by the respective university or college. The bank has clarified that all research work must be based solely on the author’s own knowledge and research, and the use of artificial intelligence or algorithmic tools in preparing articles will result in automatic disqualification.
Under the grant scheme, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank will provide financial support for research-related expenses such as data collection, travel, and dissemination activities. The bank will award grants of up to NPR 50,000 per selected proposal, with funding available for a maximum of four students.
Applicants are required to submit a concept note of 5–7 pages, including the proposed title, research objectives, background and rationale, methodology, expected outcomes, timeline, and budget. Proposals must be submitted via email to [email protected] by 14 March 2026.
The bank stated that submitted proposals will be evaluated by a committee comprising independent experts and senior leadership of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, based on relevance, originality, feasibility, and potential impact on policy and practice.
