About Fonepay
Overview
Fonepay is Nepal's largest payment network and a Payment System Operator (PSO) licensed and regulated by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). The company operates an interoperable digital payment network that connects banks and financial institutions (BFIs), digital wallets, merchants, and consumers, enabling secure, real-time digital payments across Nepal.
Fonepay facilitates a wide range of digital payment services, including Person-to-Person (P2P) and Person-to-Merchant (P2M) transactions, while supporting seamless movement of money through an instant, secure, and convenient payment infrastructure.
Today, Fonepay's interoperable network connects more than 60 partner institutions, serves over 20 million registered customers, and supports more than 1.7 million merchants across Nepal. Its Fonepay QR solution is EMV® compliant, aligning with internationally recognized standards for QR-based digital payments.
