Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited is a national-level "D" Class Microfinance Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and committed to promoting financial inclusion, women's empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable socio-economic development across Nepal.
The institution traces its origins to Manushi, a non-governmental organization established in 1991 with the objective of empowering disadvantaged communities through skill development, capacity building, and income-generating initiatives. Recognizing that access to finance is essential for sustainable economic empowerment, Manushi introduced microfinance services in April 2002 to help underserved populations—particularly women—gain access to financial resources and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Building on years of community-based development experience, the microfinance program gradually evolved into an independent financial institution. It was officially incorporated under the Companies Act of Nepal and received a "D" Class Financial Institution license from Nepal Rastra Bank on Ashoj 25, 2075 B.S. Since then, Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has continued its mission of delivering responsible microfinance services that foster financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and long-term community development.
