Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (LxLB) is a national-level "D" Class Microfinance Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank of Nepal. The institution is a subsidiary of Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited and holds the distinction of being Nepal's first microfinance institution established as a subsidiary of a commercial bank, marking a significant milestone in the country's financial inclusion journey.
LxLB was incorporated as a limited company on November 30, 2010, and received its operating license from Nepal Rastra Bank on March 6, 2012 under the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2003. The institution officially commenced microfinance operations on June 4, 2012, with its first branch office in Battar, Nuwakot, extending formal financial services to underserved and economically disadvantaged communities.
Since its establishment, Laxmi Laghubitta has remained committed to expanding access to inclusive financial services for low-income households, rural entrepreneurs, and underserved populations across Nepal.
