Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank contributes NPR 51 million to disaster relief fund

Kathmandu: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited has contributed NPR 51 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river areas on 10 Bhadra 2083.

The floods caused significant loss of life and property in parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan, including Rasuwagadhi, Timure, Syaphrubesi, Betrawati, Trishuli and Devighat, as well as surrounding areas.

The bank said the contribution combines its own financial support with one day’s salary donated by its employees.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in the disaster and sympathy to their families. It also wished a speedy recovery to those injured and affected by the floods.

The bank said it would continue to support relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts led by the authorities and other stakeholders, and stand with affected families and communities during the recovery process.
