Dirgha Rawal Appointed Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank for Five-Year Term

Kathmandu - The Government of Nepal has appointed Dirgha Rawal as Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for a five-year term. The Cabinet made the decision at its meeting on Wednesday, appointing Rawal, who was serving as Executive Director of the central bank’s Bank Supervision Department.

Dirgha Rawal Appointed as NRB Deputy Governor

The Cabinet has appointed Rawal as one of the two Deputy Governors of Nepal Rastra Bank. The appointment fills the second Deputy Governor position that had remained vacant.

Under the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058, the central bank has two Deputy Governors. One of the positions was filled earlier this year, while the second remained vacant until Rawal’s appointment.

Rawal’s Experience at Nepal Rastra Bank

Before his appointment as Deputy Governor, Rawal was serving as Executive Director and head of the Bank Supervision Department at Nepal Rastra Bank.

Rawal has around 20 years of experience at Nepal Rastra Bank, with his career including responsibilities related to the supervision and regulation of banks and financial institutions.

His appointment brings a senior central bank official with extensive banking supervision experience into the Deputy Governor position.
