Kathmandu - One of the leading business conglomerates in Nepal, the 104-year-old Jyoti Group, has officially split following disagreements on the division of its assets and leadership of companies. The separation ends one of Nepal's oldest industrial legacies as the group has gone separate ways.
Following differences with his brother Roop Jyoti, Padma Jyoti has floated a new company in his name. He has announced the setting up of the Padma Jyoti Group on Sunday.
The new group would be headed by Padma Jyoti with Mira Jyoti as promoter, and Saurabh Jyoti, Suhrid Jyoti, Srijana Jyoti, and Aarti Jyoti as its directors.
The group also introduced its new logo, which carries the kalash (holy vessel) and ashtamangal (eight auspicious symbols), which signify culture, hope, change, and purposeful difference, as stated by the group. Names of industries and companies under the new group were also announced along with the declaration.
