President Dhakal Calls on U.S. Businesses to Invest in Nepal, FNCCI to Provide Investment Support

Washington, D.C. - President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has encouraged American businesses to invest in Nepal, citing the country’s strategic growth, duty-free access to major economies, and energy partnerships with India and Bangladesh. Speaking at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, President Dhakal underscored Nepal's appeal as a production hub for both domestic and international markets, stressing the investment-friendly environment bolstered by recent government reforms.

Dhakal emphasized Nepal’s hydropower potential, supported by a 10,000 MW power purchase agreement with India and collaborations with Bangladesh. He further invited investments in tourism infrastructure, highlighting the draw of Nepal's hill stations and their proximity to India, home to a large population base.

To facilitate investment, FNCCI has established an FDI Help Desk, offering resources and support for foreign investors. Dhakal reassured U.S. investors about Nepal’s stable foreign reserves and decreasing investment risks, while pointing to recent legal frameworks that protect foreign investments.
