The 21st edition of the Mahalaxmi Literature Award for the year 2080 was presented to epic poet Muna Aryal on 5th Ashwin 2081 during a special ceremony.
Established in 2059 BS by the then Yeti Finance Limited (now merged with Mahalaxmi Development Bank), the primary aim of this award is to honor literary figures who have made significant contributions to the fields of language and literature. This year, the award was presented to Muna Aryal in coordination with the Matribhumi Sahitya Samaj, Makwanpur.
The award ceremony was presided over by Krishna Prasad Dahal, President of Matribhumi Sahitya Samaj, Makwanpur, with Suraj Chandra Lamichhane, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Bagmati Province, as the chief guest. The award was jointly presented by the provincial head of Mahalaxmi Bank for Bagmati Province "Kha" and Minister Suraj Chandra Lamichhane.
The bank expressed its belief that this initiative will contribute to the development and preservation of the literary sector in Nepal.
