NEPSE Experiences Downturn with a -3.38% Drop in the Index

In a recent turn of events, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a notable decline as the NEPSE Index marked a decrease of -70.31 points, reflecting a -3.38% dip in overall market performance.

The total turnover in the stock exchange amounted to a substantial Rs 4,113,676,958.02, with a significant trading volume involving 11,467,599 shares.

The market dynamics revealed 33 companies making advancements, while 213 companies faced a decline in their stock values. Meanwhile, 2 companies maintained an unchanged status during this period.

Tuesday saw a downturn in the shares of the second stock, with both Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) and Joshi joshi hydropower experiencing negative circuit levels. During the same trading session, the share price of Bottlers (Tarai) in Nepal witnessed a decline of approximately 9.5%, while Prabhu Insurance observed a decrease of more than 8.5%. In contrast, Gurans Laghubitta, a financial institution, displayed resilience by recording a notable 8.73% increase in its share price on that day.

Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited has claimed the top position for the day, leading the charts in turnover. Trading activities for Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited amounted to a substantial Rs 41 crore 91 lakh. In parallel, Shivam Cement witnessed robust market activity with shares trading at over 24 and a half crores, while Ghorahi Cement experienced a significant trading volume, surpassing 14 crores on the same day.
