Nepal Rastra Bank has appointed Kiran Pandit, a senior executive director at the central bank, as one of its Deputy Governors.
The Council of Ministers, meeting on Tuesday, approved the appointment to fill one of two vacant Deputy Governor positions at the central bank. The nomination was put forward by the Ministry of Finance, according to Federal Affairs and Administration Minister Pratibha Rawal.
Pandit brings nearly two decades of central banking experience to the role, having joined the institution in 2005. Over the course of his career, he has held senior positions across several key departments, including Banking Supervision, Payment Systems Department, Bank and Financial Institution Regulation and Financial Inclusion and Consumer Protection.
His appointment comes as Nepal Rastra Bank works to strengthen its leadership structure amid ongoing efforts to stabilise the country's financial sector.
