The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a strong upward momentum on Sunday, closing at 2,600.22 points, up by 39.92 points or 1.55% compared to the previous session. The market rally was supported by broad-based buying, with 237 stocks advancing, only 18 declining, and 2 remaining unchanged. Total market turnover remained healthy at Rs. 6.28 billion, with over 13.3 million shares traded.
Investor sentiment appeared highly optimistic throughout the trading session, as seen in the intraday chart reflecting a steady climb until late afternoon. Among individual performers, SAGAR emerged as the top gainer, surging 10% to close at Rs. 910.80, followed by BANDIPUR and JHAPA, each rising 9.99%. Similarly, SWASTIK and CHL also posted notable gains.
In terms of market activity, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) recorded the highest turnover at Rs. 656 million, followed by PHCL and RADHI, signaling strong investor focus on hydropower and infrastructure-related counters. The overall market sentiment remained positive, with strong participation across sectors, indicating revived market confidence as the index crossed the 2,600-point mark.
