Nepal Bankers’ Association Partners with VISA to Strengthen Cybersecurity in Nepal’s Financial Sector

Kathmandu - In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity in Nepal’s financial ecosystem, the Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) has entered into a strategic collaboration with VISA, the global leader in digital payments. This partnership aims to launch a series of nationwide programs focused on cybersecurity awareness and capacity building.

The initiative will span all provinces of Nepal, featuring interactive sessions and engagement activities with key stakeholders, including officials from banks, regulatory agencies, and other financial institutions. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to enhancing digital payment infrastructure while addressing emerging cybersecurity challenges.

The partnership will introduce nationwide cybersecurity programs with targeted sessions across all provinces aimed at educating and empowering banking professionals. It will also emphasize stakeholder engagement, bringing regulators and financial agencies into broader programs to foster collaborative learning and strengthen the sector’s resilience. Additionally, the initiative will feature interactive sessions, enabling direct dialogues between VISA experts and Nepali banking officials to exchange insights and share global best practices in cybersecurity.

NBA and VISA believe this partnership will not only strengthen Nepal’s payment ecosystem but also equip financial institutions with the tools and knowledge needed to tackle cybersecurity threats effectively.

This initiative builds on the longstanding relationship between NBA and VISA, reflecting their joint vision of a secure and inclusive digital financial future for Nepal.
