Kathmandu - Siddhartha Bank and Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) have entered into an agreement to facilitate cross-border payments for NEPALPAY QR merchants through the Alipay+ network.
Under this agreement, tourists from countries including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand, South Korea, Sweden, and Italy, among others, can seamlessly make payments to NEPALPAY QR merchants in Nepal using their domestic wallets.
The Alipay+ network supports payments through various partner wallets, including Alipay, WeChat Pay, Kakao Pay, Touch 'n Go, GCash, TrueMoney, Dana, Boost, PayPay, ChaiPay, MayaPay, OvoPay, and Bkash. This integration ensures that international transactions are quick, secure, and efficient.
This partnership is expected to simplify cross-border payments for tourists, thereby enhancing their experience in Nepal. Additionally, it aims to boost businesses in sectors such as tourism, hospitality, retail, and other service industries by enabling smooth financial transactions.
