Kathmandu– Sangeeta Pahadi has been appointed the new Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, marking a significant step forward in the company's leadership. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, reflecting trust in Pahadi's capabilities and vision for the future of the state-owned telecommunications company. Until now, she had been leading the organization as the Acting Managing Director, stepping up when the former director, Sunil Paudel, was embroiled in a corruption case.
Pahadi’s journey with Nepal Telecom began in 1992 as a young engineer with big dreams. She quickly proved her mettle, earning a permanent position just two years later. Over the years, she has climbed the ranks, showcasing her technical expertise and leadership skills. In 2022, she was promoted to Deputy Managing Director, a testament to her dedication and hard work.
With a strong educational background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Allahabad University in India and a Master’s degree from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, Pahadi has both the academic and practical experience needed to steer Nepal Telecom into a new era.
Her appointment is not just a personal achievement but also a milestone for women in leadership within Nepal's telecommunications sector. As a leader, she is expected to bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the table, guiding Nepal Telecom through a time of rapid technological change and growth.
This new leadership at Telecom is expected to provide the company with a fresh direction and perspective. Pahadi's appointment is seen as a significant step towards bringing new changes and diversity to the state-owned telecommunications company.
