About Kalika Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd.

Advancing Financial Inclusion Through Sustainable Microfinance

Kalika Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (KLBSL) is a national-level "D" Class Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank under the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2063. The institution officially commenced its financial operations on Bhadra 4, 2067 (August 20, 2010) with the mission of expanding financial inclusion and empowering economically disadvantaged communities across Nepal.

KLBSL was established to transform traditional banking practices by providing accessible microfinance services that reduce dependence on conventional collateral-based lending. Built on the principles of mutual cooperation, trust, participation, transparency, and accountability, the institution enables low-income individuals and underserved communities to access financial services that support sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

The institution primarily serves deprived, marginalized, and low-income households from diverse ethnic, social, and religious backgrounds, particularly in rural Nepal. In accordance with its lending policies, KLBSL provides microcredit with or without collateral, helping aspiring entrepreneurs start or expand income-generating activities. By extending financial access to those traditionally excluded from the formal banking system, KLBSL contributes to poverty reduction, financial empowerment, and inclusive economic development.

As part of its long-term growth strategy, Kalika Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. and Janasewi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. successfully merged and began integrated operations on Poush 23, 2076 (January 8, 2020). The merger strengthened the institution's operational capacity, expanded its branch network, and enhanced its ability to deliver quality financial services to a larger number of underserved communities throughout Nepal.

Today, KLBSL provides a comprehensive range of microfinance services, including microloans, deposit products, and remittance services, through a network of 107 branch offices operating across 48 districts. The institution remains committed to promoting financial inclusion, supporting entrepreneurship, improving household income, and fostering sustainable socio-economic development.

Vision

Kalika Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. envisions becoming a leading contributor to Nepal's national movement for poverty reduction by actively involving deprived communities in economic development and empowering them to achieve sustainable financial independence.

Mission

The mission of KLBSL is to identify local resources and maximize their productive utilization by providing inclusive financial services that empower deprived and underserved communities. Through responsible microfinance, entrepreneurship support, and community-focused financial solutions, the institution strives to improve livelihoods, promote self-employment, and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development across Nepal.
