Support Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SMB) is a Province-Level Class 'D' Microfinance Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to provide inclusive, sustainable, and customer-focused financial services across Koshi Province, Nepal. Established with the mission of expanding financial inclusion, SMB serves low-income, poor, and marginalized communities by improving access to formal financial services and supporting socio-economic development.
The institution was incorporated under the Companies Act, 2063 and registered with the Office of the Company Registrar, Nepal, on 27 Kartik 2071 B.S. (13 November 2014). It received its operating license from Nepal Rastra Bank on 15 Ashadh 2072 B.S. (30 June 2015) as a Province-Level Class 'D' Financial Institution for Koshi Province and officially commenced microfinance operations on 27 Ashadh 2072 B.S. (12 July 2015).
Expanding Financial Inclusion Across Koshi Province
The Central Office of Support Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. is located at Itahari–4, Sunsari District, Koshi Province, Nepal.
SMB began its operations through its first branch in Dhankuta District and has steadily expanded its service network throughout Koshi Province. Today, the institution operates 28 branch offices, providing accessible financial services to customers in both urban and rural communities.
By extending regulated financial services to underserved populations, SMB continues to strengthen financial inclusion and promote sustainable local economic development.
