Kathmandu - Laxmi Sunrise Bank has successfully completed the Digital Dialogue program, one of the key events of the bank's 6th annual campaign, #DigitalDecember. The program was targeted at increasing financial literacy, promoting digital banking security, and introducing new banking tools across the nation, once again proving that the bank is committed to fostering digital literacy and encouraging its customers toward secure and convenient banking.
The Digital Dialogue was a series of interactive panel discussions across all seven provinces of Nepal, targeting diverse audiences to educate their targets about the efficiency, safety, and best practices of digital banking. Events were held in major cities like Pokhara, Surkhet, Itahari, Janakpur, Hetauda, Dhangadi, Bhairahawa, and Kathmandu Valley from December 11 to December 29, 2024. The sessions were constituted with keynote addresses by senior officials of Nepal Rastra Bank and panels of local authorities, Nepal Police, business leaders, university academics, high-transacting merchants, and representatives from the disability community. The participants in these sessions included more than 500 students, salaried employees, entrepreneurs, merchants, and members of the local community.
The discussions ranged from topics of financial digital literacy and how to leverage digital banking for improving livelihoods, the economic and ecosystem benefits of digitization, and the landscape of digitization in Nepal, the present scenario of digital banking, safety risks, fraud mitigation challenges in the way ahead for digital banking and digitization in Nepal. These talks were aimed at empowering communities on how to overcome these very important challenges and motivate the use of secured digital banking practices.
Thus, the campaign #DigitalDecember by Laxmi Sunrise Bank on technology management, risk management, and corporate governance laid the ground for a knowledgeable and digitally enabled Nepal. With the program so inclusive in nature, stakeholder meaningful engagement thus formed ground for larger digital dispersion and awareness throughout the country.
