Kathmandu – Deputy Governor Nilam Dhungana Timsina has been appointed as the acting Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). The announcement was made on Monday by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Prasad Paudel.
The appointment complies with Clause 27 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058, as confirmed by the Ministry of Finance. Timsina, who currently serves as Senior Deputy Governor, will assume the role following the completion of former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari’s five-year tenure on Chait 24.
Although a committee under the leadership of Finance Minister Paudel has been formed to recommend a new Governor, the official recommendation is still pending.
