NMB Bank and USAID Host Digital Financial Literacy Session for Entrepreneurs in Gandaki Province

Pokhara, Gandaki Province — NMB Bank, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), successfully organized a Digital Financial Literacy and Product Awareness session aimed at fostering knowledge and enhancing the capabilities of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs). The event took place in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, and focused on NMB Bank’s QR Loan and Tourism Lending Products.

The primary objective of the session was to educate entrepreneurs on the NMB QR Loan, promote digital literacy, and provide information on the bank's tourism lending solutions. The session also highlighted the crucial role of digital payment systems in driving business growth and sustainability. The initiative aimed to empower entrepreneurs with marketing techniques and digital tools essential for enhancing operational efficiency.

Over 80 entrepreneurs from diverse industries actively participated in the program. Attendees engaged in insightful discussions that underscored the potential of digital financial services in supporting the growth of their businesses. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to raise questions and seek clarity on various aspects of NMB Bank’s financial products and digital payment solutions.

Speaking on the occasion, a representative from NMB Bank emphasized the bank's commitment to promoting financial inclusion and supporting the growth of SMEs and MSMEs. “These sessions aim to bridge the knowledge gap and empower entrepreneurs to leverage digital financial tools for sustainable business growth. We plan to expand these awareness initiatives to other provinces in the near future,” the representative stated.

NMB Bank’s efforts to support digital transformation and financial literacy are part of its broader strategy to strengthen Nepal’s financial ecosystem. The bank’s tourism lending product is designed to support the growing needs of the tourism sector, a vital contributor to the national economy.

Currently, NMB Bank operates through 201 branches, 187 ATMs, and 11 extension counters, offering a wide range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and communities across Nepal. The bank’s partnership with USAID further underscores its dedication to fostering inclusive growth and driving the adoption of digital financial services.
